Turkish BIST 100 Index Closes Wednesday with Slight Decline

(MENAFN) Türkiye's primary equity benchmark closed marginally lower Wednesday, settling at 13,787.82 points—a 0.07% decline from the prior session.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index opened the midweek session at 13,729.36 points before sliding 9.22 points by market close.

Intraday volatility saw the benchmark touch a floor of 13,680.91 points, while rallying to a peak of 13,912.94 points during trading hours.

The BIST 100's aggregate market capitalization hovered near 13.64 trillion Turkish liras—equivalent to $313.2 billion—as daily turnover reached 195.8 billion Turkish liras ($4.48 billion).

Market breadth tilted modestly positive, with 54 index constituents advancing while 45 declined compared to Tuesday's closing levels.

Commodity markets showed gold trading at $5,051.50 per ounce as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT), while Brent crude oil futures hovered around $69.5 per barrel.

Currency markets reflected the US dollar trading at 43.6395 Turkish liras, with the euro fetching 51.8010 liras and the British pound exchanging at 59.6490 liras.
