Turkey Sends First Aircraft to Germany for NATO Military Exercise

(MENAFN) The first aircraft from Türkiye touched down Saturday at Germany’s Wunstorf Air Base, marking Ankara’s initial deployment for NATO’s biggest military drill of the year, as stated by official alliance reports.

The arrival forms part of the large-scale exercise known as Steadfast Dart-26, which is designed to enhance coordination and preparedness among allied forces. Commenting on the operation, the alliance said: “Allies on the move, training together to strengthen readiness and collective defence.”

Türkiye is set to play a significant role in the drills, which run from Feb. 8 through Feb. 20. The Turkish Armed Forces are participating with a contingent of roughly 2,000 personnel, including both land-based and naval units, as part of the broader multinational effort.
